Artifacts from EEND 667C
I really enjoyed taking Multimedia Tools in education. I have to say the most rewarding concept that I took away from this class was using the loom app. I had heard about teenagers using it in the past, and it sounded cool, but it was too overwhelming to introduce new technology during the 2020-21 school year. One of the assignments we had to do in multimedia tools and education was to create a loom lesson plan. I created a loom about a personal story of (my dad's) experience in Vietnam. I was able to show a picture of my dad while he was in the Vietnam War and tell his story at the same time. This artifact is incredibly functional for remote students. I'm not sure how useful it will be now that we are back in the classroom, but I think showing another teacher how to do something or helping my student teacher using a loom will be quite helpful.
Another artifact I created for multimedia tools and education was a website! Our assignment was to have students continually blog with us or use technology to communicate with the teacher. I modified a blog assignment I already created. I created my website and added the student portal. On my student portal, the students click on the blog assignment. Using bloggers and some prompts, the student's blog while they read. Again, creating a website was something that other teachers had done in my district that looked fun and creative, but I struggled to find the time to try something new. I really like my website; I can see my students using the portal, and I can see my parents using it to communicate with me. I think if I update my website, parents would know what was happening in the classroom. I could even use the website to upload photos of what's happening in the classroom. I imagine even high school parents might still like that! Feel free to check out my website here.
